The Consortium of Tanzania University and Research Libraries (COTUL) is a fully-fledged association registered in November 2017 with the Ministry of Home Affairs with a Registration Number S.A. 21148.
The Consortium's primary goal is to facilitate availability and access to research resources nationwide, particularly the joint acquisition of electronic resources (e-journals and e-books) to support the core functions of teaching, learning, and research. It also provides capacity building among its members in areas related to the application of ICTs in providing library services, such as creating Digital Libraries and Institutional Repositories. In addition, COTUL provides training on marketing and promotion of e-resources, information literacy skills, and customer care.
JOB TITLE: COTUL VOLUNTEER - 1 POST
Job description
COTUL is looking for a volunteer with a strong understanding and capabilities of using Information and Communication Technology and experience with general office tasks. The volunteer should have experience with bookkeeping practices as well as public relations. He/she should also be creative and able to create and maintain office records, including financial records, prepare accurate reports, and publicize the organization through emerging technologies.
Job Qualifications:
An ideal candidate must have a diploma in Information Communication Technology, Business Management, Information Studies, or related fields. Expertise in graphic design, public relations, and accountancy are added advantages.
Job duties and responsibilities
§ Keeping office and financial records accurate and up-to-date
§ Issuing invoices to COTUL member institutions
§ Make a close follow-up on member institutions’ payments
§ Designing COTUL promotional materials
§ Publish and respond to queries posted on social media
§ Respond to phone calls and e-mails
§ Assist in coordinating workshops, meetings, and conferences
§ Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the COTUL management
Work station
The working station will be the COTUL office at the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) building, Kijitonyama, Dar es Salaam.
Remuneration
A reasonable package will be offered to the right applicant.
